About the Author

Robert Kelley is a music theorist, composer, pianist, harpsichordist, and Assistant Professor of Music at Lander University, in Greenwood, South Carolina. He spent all of his formative years trapped inside the Capital Beltway before becoming a music geek at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. After a brief return to his home state of Virginia, Rob studied at Florida State University, earning his music theory Ph.D. in 2005. Since then, Dr. Kelley has been sucked back into Upstate South Carolina by the massive electromagnetic forces emanating from the Cultural Center of Lander University in Greenwood. While Rob works full-time as a music theory teacher, class piano taskmaster, world music lecturer, and accompanist, he spends most of his remaining time teaching private piano lessons, playing saxophone in the Lander Wind Ensemble, singing with shape-note singing groups all over the South, and pestering his friends on the Internet. This pestering includes the relentless torture of everyone he knows with corny, lame, and groan-inducing humor and barrages of wordplay with impunity.
